BELLINGHAM — A 68-year-old Cumberland, Rhode Island man was injured Monday afternoon after falling off his motorcycle in Bellingham, causing the bike to continue forward and crash into a home, according to police.
At approximately 1:55 p.m. on May 26, Bellingham Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of Center Street and Park Street following a report of a motor vehicle crash involving one motorcycle and another vehicle, the Bellingham Police Department said in a press release.

The man fell from the motorcycle, which then traveled a significant distance before striking the front door of the residence located at 155 Center Street. The home was occupied at the time, but none of the individuals inside the residence at the time of the crash were injured, according to police.
The motorcycle operator, who sustained what were described as “minor” injuries, was transported by Bellingham Fire to Milford Regional Medical Center for evaluation. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was not injured.
The incident is currently under investigation by Bellingham Police Accident Reconstruction Officer Ryan Gonthier.
