Antisemitic messages found in classroom at Nashoba Regional High School, police investigating

BOLTON — Two antisemitic messages were discovered Wednesday afternoon in a social studies classroom at Nashoba Regional High School.

According to an email sent to the school community on Thursday, April 2, 2026 by Nashoba’s Principal Dr. Kathleen Boynton, one message was a word written in small print on a whiteboard, while the other was an image on a piece of paper in the social studies classroom with “antisemitic labels.” The teacher reported the matter immediately to school administrators, who referred it to the Bolton Police Department, which is now investigating it as a hate crime.

“This behavior is deeply concerning and unacceptable. Antisemitic symbols and language are harmful and stand in direct opposition to the values we strive to uphold as a school community,” Boynton wrote. Later adding, “While this incident does not reflect who we are as a community, it does underscore the importance of continuing our work to ensure that students understand the impact of their actions and the responsibility they carry as members of a diverse and inclusive school.”

In the coming days, Boynton said the school will reinforce expectations around respect, inclusion and the harm caused by hate speech and symbols through classroom discussions and ongoing interactions with students. She also urged families to speak with their children about treating others with dignity and reporting behavior that does not align with the school’s values. Students were encouraged to report concerns to a trusted adult so school officials can respond promptly.

Boynton said school counselors and support staff are available for students and employees who may be affected by the incident or need additional support.

The school will continue working with law enforcement as the investigation moves forward and will take any appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with its code of conduct, she said.
