One resident hospitalized after house fire in Franklin

FRANKLIN — On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at approximately 4:39 p.m., firefighters with the Franklin Fire Department were dispatched to a residence on Dean Avenue following a report of a structure fire, with flames visible through the doorway.

According to Franklin Fire Chief Charles Allen, when firefighters arrived on scene, they located a fire on the porch that had extended into the residence.

“The first arriving crew quickly knocked down the fire,” Chief Allen said in a statement.

All of the home’s occupants had evacuated the residence prior to firefighters’ arrival on scene.

One of the residents was transported by ambulance to Milford Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Chief Allen said the fire was brought under control by approximately 4:50 p.m. Crews then remained on scene to ventilate the residence and check for fire extension.

The fire is under investigation by the Franklin Fire Department.
