LEOMINSTER —One lucky Leominster resident came home from Wyman’s Liquors with much more than a hangover in a bottle.
On Monday, The Massachusetts State Lottery announced that a $1 million dollar prize was sold from the Wyman’s on 30 Pleasant Street. The prize came from the “1,000,000 CASH” game, a $5 scratch ticket. That prize was the largest won in the state on May 2.
The winner, who has not gone public, chose to take home the $650,000 cash option after taxes. The other option was $50,000 a year for 20 years. The odds of winning the million-dollar prize on the ticket sold at Wyman’s is 1 in 5,040,000, according to the state lottery commission.
Yet, as improbable as those odds are, back in February, an even luckier Leominster resident took home $6.5 million from the top prize on the “$10,000,000 Winter Riches” game, a $20 scratch ticket.
