LEOMINSTER — Residents of Sunrise Senior Living Center in Leominster have crafted warm, tie blankets as part of the “Gifts From the Heart” initiative by Fostering Change, Inc. This project is part of a broader effort to bring holiday cheer to over 400 foster children in the area. The initiative, running through December 15, invites community participation to ensure these children experience the joy and warmth of the season.

Fostering Change, Inc. is a Leominster-based community organization dedicated to providing foster kids “the resources to succeed and the experiences of being a kid.”

“Foster children are often forgotten. Our goal is to provide them with the joys and normalcy of childhood, especially during the holidays,” said Lindsey English, President of Fostering Change, Inc.

The community can contribute in several ways. Desired gifts, listed on the wish lists of Amazon, Target, and Walmart’s websites under ‘Fostering Change, Inc.,’ can be purchased online. Alternatively, physical gift drop-offs are accepted at multiple locations in Leominster: Leominster United Methodist Church (77 Hall St.), Leominster Credit Union (20 Adams St.), Leominster City Hall (25 West St.), CapEx FSC LLC (117 Florence St.), and in Fitchburg at Aesthetics by Cie – Manestream Day Spa (909 South St.).

In addition to gifts, monetary donations are also welcome. These can be made through PayPal at FosteringChangeMA@gmail.com, by mailing checks to Fostering Change, Inc. at 197 Spruce St., Apt. 5, Leominster MA 01453, or via Venmo @FosteringChangeMA.

“The holidays are a time for family, gratitude, and community,” said English. “Our initiative is more than just gifts; it’s about giving foster children a sense of belonging, love, and care during this special season.”
