LOWELL — A Lowell resident is now one million dollars richer thanks to her beating the astronomically low odds of winning the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” instant ticket game.
Elizabeth Correia – the winner – chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes).
Correia told The Massachusetts Lottery that she plans on investing her winnings.
Correia purchased the winning ticket at Santo Domingo Liquors located at 419 Hampshire Street in Lawrence on Nov. 12, 2024.
The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
