WESTFORD — The Westford home of Congresswoman Lori Trahan (D – 3rd Congressional District) was the target of a bomb threat on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Trahan shared the news in a Facebook post at 11:11 a.m., thanking law enforcement for their swift and effective response.
“I am grateful to the excellent officers at the Westford Police Department who responded swiftly to make sure we were safe and who are now working with the United States Capitol Police and Massachusetts State Police regarding this incident,” Trahan wrote.
The Westford Police Department stated they responded to Trahan’s home around 8:15 a.m. after receiving an emailed threat. The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad was also called to the scene, and the residence was cleared. Police made contact with Trahan and her family to ensure their well-being.
The Westford Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and the United States Capitol Police are collaborating on the investigation, which is ongoing.
