โI spoke with her in the front interview room,โ Officer Kevin Wolski said. โ[She] came in to discuss the report she made to Sergeant [Gerald] Gagne over the phone the night before, in which she believed that her ex-boyfriend, Jayson Ashmore, whom she has a restraining order against, had violated the order. We discussed her prior report in which she stated that Jayson Ashmore had posted a picture of her son online which she believed he had done in order to harass her.โ
According to police, Jayson Francis Ashmore, 41, is a resident of 270 Merriam Avenue, Leominster, MA.

The woman said she didnโt want pictures of her son posted on the internet because she did not want her ex-husband and father of her son to find him, Officer Wolski recounted.
โShe reported that [her ex-husband] has not seen her son in years and she is afraid of what her ex-husband will do,โ Officer Wolski said. โI informed [her] that I agreed with Sgt. Gagne’s assessment that this was not a violation of the restraining order.โ

โDuring our conversation [she] told me that she was so upset about Jayson posting this picture that she texted him to tell him to take the picture down, despite the fact that she has an active order against Jayson,โ Officer Wolski said. โShe then informed me that he responded to the text message.โ
The woman provided Officer Wolski with a screen shot of the text message thread between her and Ashmore.
โThe top of the screenshot indicates that the text thread is from โJayson,โโ Officer Wolski said.
The text message thread which occurred on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at 8:14 p.m. reads as follows:
Jayson: “Okay, I will. Sorry, I didn’t think of that.”
Woman: “Thanks.”
Jayson: “You’re welcome.”
Woman: “It’s a big deal.”
Jayson: “I know. I’m sorryโI didn’t even think of that.”
Woman: “I need you to delete it from the history.”
Jayson: “Okay, I will. I’m almost home; it should be all set. I deleted it from both.”
Officer Wolski stated that the Winchendon District Court initially issued a restraining order against Ashmore on December 12, 2024, at 10:26โฏp.m. It was modified on December 13, 2024, and extended until December 23, 2024, then modified again on December 23, 2024, and extended until June 23, 2025, at 4:00โฏp.m. The order specifies that Ashmore must have no contactโwhether by telephone, in writing, or electronically.
โAlthough [she] did text him first, Jayson violated the order by responding with a text message of his own,โ Officer Wolski said. โJayson could have simply ignored her, or complied with her request and removed the photo.โ
The woman told Officer Wolski that Ashmore was currently staying with his parents in Leominster and he was driving her dark green Nissan Rogue with Massachusetts plates.
โShe reported that he would likely be at that residence and was not working today,โ Officer Wolski added.
โI called Jayson’s phone on the Winchendon Police recorded line,โ Officer Wolski said. โJayson answered and verified it was him. He also admitted that he responded to [the womanโs] text message on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025. I informed him that he would have to be placed under arrest. He stated he was in Connecticut but would come to Winchendon and turn himself in within a few hours. At approximately 1:30 p.m., Jayson turned himself in. He was booked and later transported to Winchendon District Court to be arraigned for violation of a restraining order.โ
Ashmore was charged with:
- Abuse Prevention Order, Violate
He was arraigned in Winchendon District Court on Jan. 1, 2025. Following his arraignment, he was released on his own personal recognizance under the condition that he abide by the restraining order.
Ashmoreโs next court date is a pretrial hearing scheduled for March 11, 2025.
