HUDSON — Firefighters from Hudson Firefighters Local 1713 – a union whose members are in the Hudson Fire Department – responded to a car fire on Coolidge Street around 1:45 p.m. on Monday, March 31.
Engines 4 and 5 and Tower 1 were dispatched after reports came in of a vehicle fire with possible exposure to nearby structures. When crews from Engine 5 arrived, they found the car’s engine compartment fully engulfed in flames, though it was not near any exposures.
A recall was issued for off-duty personnel to cover Station 1 while Engine 5 remained on scene, Hudson Firefighters Local 1713 said in a statement. Firefighters quickly pulled a hose from the front of a fire truck and extinguished the blaze.
Engine 4 and Tower 1 then arrived to assist with overhaul operations. Shortly after their arrival, Tower 1 was released from the fire scene to respond to a separate medical emergency alongside a Patriot Ambulance medic unit.
The fire was fully extinguished with no reported injuries.
