AMHERST — An Amherst man was sentenced in federal court in Springfield today to five years in jail for distributing and possessing child pornography.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, on May 15, 2025, Bradley Driscoll, 27, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Mark Mastroianni to five years in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release. Driscoll was also ordered to pay $25,000 in restitution to the victims.
Prosecutors allege that on Aug. 29, 2022, Driscoll expressed an interest in obtaining child pornography in a Kik chat conversation with an undercover agent. Driscoll also sent the undercover agent a link which contained approximately 345 child sexual abuse material files depicting minors, some as young as one years old, being penetrated by adult males.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, in September 2023, Driscoll admitted to owning the Kik username and told investigators he obtained the child pornography through other Kik messenger chat groups. He also acknowledged asking the undercover agent to send him child pornography.
In February 2025, Driscoll pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography. In October 2023, Driscoll was indicted by a federal grand jury.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Sullivan Jacobus of the Major Crimes Unit prosecuted the case.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts stated that the case was filed under Project Safe Childhood—a national initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address the rise in child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the DOJ’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, the program brings together federal, state, and local agencies to investigate and prosecute offenders and to identify and rescue victims.
