GLOUCESTER — On Monday, July 21, 2025, at approximately 6:35 a.m., Gloucester Police responded to 12 Lexington Avenue following reports of multiple cars being broken into.
According to a statement from Gloucester Police Chief Edward Conley, a preliminary investigation found that two vehicles had their windows smashed and personal belongings, including debit cards, were stolen. The victims were attending a fitness class at Freedom Fitness at the time of the thefts.
At 6:40 a.m., Gloucester Police responded to Fitness Zone at 37 Blackburn Center following a report of a car window being smashed and personal belongings stolen. Police also received a report of another vehicle near Dory Drive that had its license plates stolen.
A third call came in to Gloucester police at 6:54 a.m., this time reporting car break-ins at North Shore 24 Fitness, located at 6 Whistlestop Way. Akin to the other two incidents that morning, the driver’s side windows were shattered and personal belongings were stolen from the vehicles.
