ARLINGTON — On Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Arlington Police Department was dispatched to the intersection of Washington and Summer streets following a report of a crash.
According to a statement from Arlington’s Police Chief Julie Flaherty, when police arrived on scene, they were met with the aftermath of a two-vehicle crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.
The motorcycle’s operator, Martin Mitchell, 65, of Arlington, was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the other vehicle, an 18-year-old Saugus woman, was also taken to a local hospital for treatment and later released.
Chief Flaherty said that the Saugus woman is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, which is being led by the Arlington Police Department, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and state police detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.Â
