LAKEVILLE — On Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Lakeville police responded to a burglary alarm at Lakeville Ace Hardware located at 352 Bedford Street.
According to a statement from Lakeville Police Chief Matthew Perkins, when officers arrived on scene, they found a running, unoccupied vehicle behind the hardware store and determined the building had been broken into.
“During a search of the nearby area, officers located about $3,000 worth of power tools on the ground behind the building, including chainsaws, battery-powered tools, leaf blowers and compressors,” Chief Perkins said. “A short time later, officers located a rideshare vehicle in the area and conducted an investigatory stop.”
Chief Perkins said that, following an on-scene investigation, Kevin Lord, 40, of Falmouth, who was a passenger in the rideshare vehicle was identified as the suspect in the break-in. Lord was taken into custody without incident.
Kevin Lord was arrested and charged with:
- Breaking and Entering a Building During the Nighttime with Intent to Commit a Felony
- Malicious Destruction of Property Over $1,200
“Lakeville Police were assisted at the scene by a Middleborough Police K-9 unit and the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation,” Chief Perkins said.
Lord was arraigned in Wareham District Court on Monday.
