LEICESTER — On Saturday, December 20, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Leicester police officers were dispatched to a residence on Paxton Street following a report that a man who was just involved in a shooting in Worcester had fled back to his home in Leicester.
According to a statement from the Leicester Police Department, the suspect was still armed with a firearm, and dispatchers listening on an open 911 line determined he posed a threat to both an individual inside the home and responding officers.
Leicester police, assisted by the Worcester, Spencer, and Charlton police departments, along with the Massachusetts State Police, established a perimeter and were eventually able to take the suspect into custody without incident.
According to the Leicester Police Department, Leicester police detectives conducted a follow-up investigation and executed two search warrants at the suspect’s residence.
The suspect was later arraigned in East Brookfield District Court on Dec. 22, 2025, on multiple charges, including:
- Assault & Battery on Family/Household Member
- Strangulation/Suffocation
- Assault & Battery with Dangerous Weapon
- Unarmed Robbery
- Witness Intimidation
- Vandalism (two counts)
- Carrying a Firearm while Intoxicated
- Threatening to Commit a Crime (to wit, murder)
- Evidence Tampering
The suspect was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing. Police said the suspect’s identity is being withheld due to the pending domestic violence charges.
