“Please be advised that both occupants of this residence are known to the Barre Police Department for multiple different calls for service,” Officer Forss said, adding that the occupants of the home are known to be Tyler Belliveau, 27, and Devin [last name redacted].

According to police, Tyler A. Belliveau, 27, is a resident of School Street North in Barre, MA.

“Tyler and Devin also have a 19-month-old child that lives in the home,” Officer Forss said. “Prior to responding, dispatch advised of an active Harassment Prevention Order between the parties. The order stipulates Mr. Belliveau was not to abuse the plaintiff, [Devin]. Mr. Belliveau later indicated he was aware of the order and on November 3, 2025, Templeton police left the order at Mr. Belliveau’s residence, leaving it with Mr. Belliveau’s father.”

Officer Forss said that when he arrived on scene, he spoke with Devin outside the residence near the back door.

“Devin was visibly upset and stated that her boyfriend, Tyler, had locked her out of the house,” Officer Forss said.

Officer Forss said he asked Devin what led to her being outside, and she stated that she went out to dinner with a friend after work and that Tyler wanted her home by 8:30 p.m.

“Devin then stated that she contacted Tyler to let him know she was going to be late and that Tyler did not like that, subsequently telling Devin he was going to lock her out of the house,” Officer Forss said. “Devin then stated she was going to sleep at a friend’s house for the night, but around 4:00 a.m., decided she was going to return home.”

Devin said that when she got home, the door was locked and that Belliveau had previously taken her house key from her. She said Tyler eventually allowed her into the home, and they attempted to go to bed.

“Devin went on to say that she and Tyler began to argue, at which time Devin said Tyler scooped her up and threw her out of the bed onto the ground,” Officer Forss said. “Devin mentioned that Tyler had never done that previously. Please be advised that while I was speaking with Devin outside the home, Tyler came to the back door, locked the door, turned the light off and went upstairs.”

Officer Forss said that after Officer Zachary Warner arrived on scene as backup, the officers illuminated the house with their flashlights because Devin stated her 19-month-old son was currently in the home with Belliveau.

“Upon shining our flashlight on the front window of the home, we were able to see Tyler in the front bedroom holding his child,” Officer Forss said.

Officer Forss said that Officer Warner yelled out to Belliveau to come to the front door and speak with police, but Belliveau looked at the police and shook his head no, indicating he was not going to comply.

“Officer Warner then asked Devin if she had any concerns about Tyler’s mental health status, to which she stated that he threatened to harm himself earlier that morning,” Officer Forss said.

At this time, Officer Forss requested Officer Andrew Bresciani of the Hubbardston Police Department respond to the scene to assist.

“Once Officer Bresciani arrived on scene, the decision was made to make entry into the home out of concern for Tyler’s mental health status, for the safety of their 19-month-old child, and the allegations of domestic violence,” Officer Forss said.

Officer Forss stated that he made entry through the front door by forcibly kicking it open, after which he and Officer Bresciani proceeded upstairs to speak with Belliveau.

“I found him lying in bed with his child,” Officer Forss said. “I requested that Tyler get out of bed and speak with me, which he initially was hesitant to do.”

Officer Forss said Belliveau eventually complied and placed his child into his crib.

“Officer Bresciani then stood by with the child, while Officer Warner and I attempted to speak with Tyler outside,” Officer Forss said. “Tyler’s mother then arrived on scene to take custody of the child. Upon speaking with Tyler, he confirmed the story that Devin had told us, but stated her allegation of him throwing her out of the bed was untrue. At this time, I detained Tyler in order to continue in our investigation.”

Officer Forss then placed Belliveau in the back of a cruiser.

“After speaking with Officer Warner, the decision was made to place Tyler under arrest. I notified Tyler that he would be coming back to the station with us in custody,” Officer Forss said. “Tyler was then booked per department policy. During booking the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected emanating from Tyler’s person, although he did not outwardly appear to be intoxicated. A 51A was filed on behalf of the child.”  (A 51A form is a mandatory report that professionals in Massachusetts, who work with children, must file with the DCF when they suspect that a child is being abused, neglected, or both).

Tyler A. Belliveau was charged with the following:

  • Assault & Battery on Family/Household Member
  • Abuse Prevention Order, Violate
  • Reckless Endangerment of Child

Belliveau was arraigned in East Brookfield District Court on Nov. 26, 2025. Following his arraignment, he was released on personal recognizance. Belliveau’s next court date is a pretrial hearing scheduled for Jan. 14, 2026.
