Douglas man charged after neighbors report repeated horn honking and car alarm disturbances

DOUGLAS — On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Officer Jonathan Gomes of the Douglas Police Department said Douglas Police Dispatch received a call from a resident of 291 South Street who reported that his neighbor, Glen Campbell, has been honking his horn and setting his vehicle’s alarm off for no apparent reason.

“I spoke to [the reporting party] a short time later, I was able to hear Glen’s vehicle’s alarm going off through the phone during the conversation, it was eventually turned off,” Officer Gomes said.

Officer Gomes said the reporting party told him this has been going on for a couple days, adding that at one point Campbell sat in his vehicle in the roadway and laid on his horn more than 15 seconds.

“[The reporting party] requested to have these incidents logged, but now wanted Glen charged due to him not stopping,” Officer Gomes said.

Officer Gomes reviewed the call log and saw that the reporting party called on Jan. 5, 2026, at 10:14 a.m. to report that Campbell had honked his horn for over 15 seconds. The reporting party called again on Jan. 7, 2026, to report that Campbell had set his alarm off at 8:23 a.m., 10:02 a.m., and now at 7:15 p.m.

Officer Gomes said there were three separate call entries on Jan. 7, 2026.

“It should also be noted that since Aug. 2, 2024, Douglas police have interacted with Glen over 65 times for various reasons,” Officer Gomes said. “In these interactions, officers have responded for reports of various disturbances, including reports of fireworks, loud music, and verbal or physical altercations. Glen has been a direct participant or has been present for every single one of these incidents.”

Officer Gomes said the reports against Campbell were made by several neighbors who contacted the Douglas Police Department to report the disturbances.

“Since Aug. 31, 2024, Glen has been charged nine times for disturbing his neighbors’ peace,” Officer Gomes said, adding that a search of Glen’s Board of Probation record showed his most recent disturbing the peace charge from Uxbridge District Court on Jan. 10, 2025, resulted in a guilty finding.

“It should also be noted that Glen has five guilty dispositions for the same charge since Oct. 11, 2024,” Officer Gomes said.

Glen Lee Campbell, 50, of 291 South Street, Apt. 7, Uxbridge, was charged with:

  • Disturbing the Peace, Subsequent Offense
  • Keep Noisy & Disorderly House

Campbell’s arraignment was scheduled for Jan. 8, 2026, in Uxbridge District Court.
