Boston police officer charged with manslaughter in fatal Dorchester shooting

BOSTON — A Boston police officer has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month in Dorchester.

Officer Nicholas O’Malley, 33, was taken into custody this morning and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury Boston Municipal Court today on a charge of manslaughter, according to a statement from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

The charge stems from the March 11 shooting death of Stephenson King, 39, of Dorchester.

In its statement, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said additional information will be released at O’Malley’s arraignment.
