Haverhill — On Thursday, April 16, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Haverhill police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Emerson Street and Welcome Street.
According to the Haverhill Police Department, when officers arrived on scene, they found numerous shell casings in the area. Police said property damage was reported, but no injuries were reported.
The department also alerted the public on social media to the large police presence in the area of Emerson and Welcome streets and asked residents to avoid the area during the investigation. The roadways have since reopened.
Three men from Haverhill were taken into custody in connection with the incident:
- Riley Quinn, age 18
- Timothy Mossey, age 18
- Richard Santana, age 25
They are expected to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court tomorrow.
Haverhill police said the three men are expected to face multiple firearms-related and assault charges, with additional charges possible as the investigation continues.
At this time, police said the matter appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
