โ€œI observed a male sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle,โ€ Officer Ferreira said. โ€œThrough an investigation, I believed the male was Juan E Luciano. A CJISย [the FBIโ€™s Criminal Justice Information Services database] query revealed Mr. Luciano had an active warrant out of Worcester District Court.โ€

According to police, Juan E. Luciano, 59, is a resident of Worcester, MA.

โ€œOfficer [Jake] Tondel and I approached the vehicle and confirmed the male was Mr. Luciano. He was placed under arrest,โ€ Officer Ferreira said. โ€œI conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle due to a crack pipe being observed in plain view in the cup holder.โ€

During the search, Officer Ferreira said he located a small aluminum โ€œSquishmallowsโ€ tin. Inside the tin, he said he found two large glassine corner-cut baggies.

Inside one of the bags, Officer Ferreira said he observed numerous large chunks of a white rocklike substance, which he believed was crack cocaine based on his training and experience. He said the second bag contained a large amount of pink and purple powder, which he believed was fentanyl.

โ€œMr. Luciano admitted the substances were his. I also located a small black portable scale,โ€ Officer Ferreira said. โ€œDuring booking, approximately $259 in cash was located on Mr. Luciano’s person.โ€

Officer Ferreira said the suspected crack cocaine weighed approximately 19 grams and the suspected fentanyl weighed approximately seven grans.

โ€œMr. Luciano was found guilty for possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug and possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug on January 9, 2026 out of Worcester District Court,โ€ Officer Ferreira said. Adding, โ€œBased on the amount of narcotics, the portable scale, the cash located, as well as Mr. Luciano having previously been found guilty for possession with intent to distribute narcotics, I believed he possessed both the fentanyl and crack cocaine with the intent to distribute it.โ€

Juan Luciano, 59, of Worcester, was charged with the following:

  • Cocaine, Trafficking in 18 Grams or More, Less than 36 Grams
  • Possess to Distribute Class A Drug, Subsequent Offense
  • Possess to Distribute Class B Drug, Subsequent Offense

โ€œMr. Luciano has 58 entries on his adult BOP [Board of Probation record],โ€ Officer Ferreira said.

Luciano was arraigned in Westborough District Court on May 27, 2026. Following his arraignment, he was held on $25,000 cash bail.

Lucianoโ€™s next court date is a pretrial conference hearing on June 26, 2026.
