MAYNARD — On Monday, July 6, 2026, at 5:59 p.m., the Maynard Fire Department responded to 7 Taft Avenue after receiving a 911 call reporting a fire.
According to Maynard Fire Chief Angela Lawless, when companies arrived on scene, firefighters found heavy fire coming from a 1 1/2-story, four-bay detached garage near a home.
“Firefighters from Maynard and Stow quickly worked to contain the fire to the garage, and protected a nearby home,” Chief Lawless said. “The garage was a total loss.”
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters from Stow, Concord, and Acton provided mutual aid at the scene, along with ambulances from Carlisle and Pro Ambulance. Firefighters from Boxborough and Lincoln covered Maynard fire stations during the response.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Maynard Fire Department and the Massachusetts State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
