HAVERHILL — On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at approximately 8:50 a.m., first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Winter Street and Locust Street following a report of a collision involving a motor vehicle and an electric scooter.
According to the Haverhill Police Department, when officers arrived on scene, they determined that a 15-year-old operating the e-scooter had been involved in the crash.
The teen sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The operator of the motor vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, the Haverhill Police Department reported. No charges have been filed at this time, and the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
The Haverhill Police Department reminded riders to wear properly fitted helmets and any other appropriate protective equipment, obey traffic laws, remain alert to their surroundings, and ride predictably. Motorists were also urged to remain vigilant, especially in neighborhoods and areas where children may be riding.
