An off-duty Chelsea police officer was arrested on domestic assault and weapons charges following an early morning incident on July 3, 2025.

A Chelsea man with five outstanding warrants was arraigned after allegedly assaulting a Dollar Tree employee during a shoplifting incident. He is currently held on bail, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled.​
