SUV Collision in Littleton Claims Life, Leominster Woman Faces Charges

LITTLETON – A 22-year-old Leominster woman is facing charges following a fatal head-on collision that took place on Route 2 in Littleton Thursday morning.

The preliminary investigation by police indicates that a 2010 Dodge SUV driven by the Leominster woman entered Route 2 eastbound in the wrong direction before striking a Mazda CX-5 near the 114-mile marker in Littleton.

State Police Troopers from the Concord Barracks responded to the accident at about 12:42 a.m. Thursday.

The driver of the Mazda CX-5, Geetika Guruprasad, 25, of Somerville, was transported to Emerson Hospital in Concord where she was pronounced dead.

The Leominster woman – whose name has not yet been released – survived the accident with serious injuries. She has been charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and wrong way violation.

She will appear in Concord District Court at a later date.

The investigation into the crash is being conducted by the State Police-Concord Barracks and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
