Cambridge woman, 27, identified as Central Square murder victim

CAMBRIDGE — Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Cambridge Police Commissioner Christine Elow have confirmed the identity of the woman who was fatally shot in Central Square last week.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Danasia Greene, a resident of Cambridge. A 26-year-old Boston man, who was also shot during the incident, has since been treated and released.

The two were found shot on November 23, at around 12:30 a.m., after Cambridge Police responded to a distress call near 10 Magazine Street in Central Square.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the two individuals with gunshot wounds near a black Tesla that remained in the roadway. Both victims were immediately transported to a Boston hospital for medical attention.

Danasia Greene was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victim, a 26-year-old male, was transported to the hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries, he has since been treated and released.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
