
CAMBRIDGE — On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, shortly after 12:00 p.m., Cambridge police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office responded to Fresh Pond following a report that the body of a man was along the shoreline.
According to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Cambridge Police Commissioner Pauline Wells, Cambridge Fire Department personnel also responded and recovered the body from the water.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner accepted the case and identified the man as a 41-year-old who was known to be in the area.
Ryan and Wells reported that the preliminary investigation found no obvious signs of trauma to the body, and foul play is not suspected at this time.
