Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old electrical apprentice accused of killing Charlie Kirk, was once described by his conservative parents as a “tech genius” and piano prodigy — with no real history of political activism.

A handwritten letter dated March 15, 1978, from Sergyj Czornonoh in Sacramento, California, to the British Ambassador at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. The letter references a previous correspondence sent to Prime Minister James Callaghan on February 15, 1978, and mentions an incident on July 18, 1963, in London, England. Czornonoh describes being placed under house arrest by an immigration officer at the airport and being interrogated by a police officer named Mr. Smith. He recounts stating that he had heard an American defector, Lee Harvey Oswald, had returned to the United States and was preparing to assassinate President John F. Kennedy. The letter also mentions that Oswald’s name was published in a Washington newspaper at least once before the assassination.
