TEMPLETON — The dirt bike rider who collided with a vehicle turning into Candlelite Café’s parking lot on Route 2A at 11:30 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2024, passed away two days after the accident.
The Worcester District Attorney’s Office identified, Brian Olson, 25, of Stow, as the victim of the crash.
According to a GoFundMe page created by Adam Rowe to help Olson’s family pay for funeral expenses, Olson worked for ET&L Construction Corporation in Stow for many years, loved driving big rigs, restored trucks in his free time, and was on his way to getting his pilot’s license.
“His love for driving big rigs at work made him love his job day in and day out,” wrote Rowe on the GoFundMe page. Later adding, “Brian was always the person you could call and he would be there to help you out. He was always ready for a good time and not afraid to be goofy and show his bright personality. He made his presence known where ever he went.”

Olson sustained life-threatening injuries after colliding with a motor vehicle as it was taking a left turn into the parking lot of Candlelite Café on 712 Patriots Road (Route 2A), around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Officials say Olson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Olson was transported to Heywood Hospital where he remained until his passing on May 6, 2024, according to the GoFundMe page.
The driver of the car involved in the accident will not be cited with any moving violations, according to police.
