LUNENBURG – On June 24, 2024, Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr. announced that, last week, a Worcester County Grand Jury handed up a murder indictment against Orlando Garcia Rosado, 57, for the fatal stabbing of Maria Murray, 53, in Lunenberg.
Garcia Rosado is accused in the fatal stabbing of Ms. Murray on December 26, 2023.
Early’s office reports that Lunenburg Police responded to the couple’s home on 1790 Massachusetts Avenue just after 8:45 p.m. to find Ms. Murray suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was transported to Leominster Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Defendant Garcia Rosado was arrested and charged with murder and assault and battery on a family/household member. He was held without bail following his arraignment in Fitchburg District Court last December.
Last week’s indictment moves the case against Defendant Garcia Rosado to the Worcester Superior Court where he will be arraigned on a future date not yet announced.
