Motorcyclist from Westborough, 26, killed in high-speed crash on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester

WORCESTER — On Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at approximately 2:45 a.m., Worcester police officers were dispatched to the area of 465 Shrewsbury Street following a report of a serious accident involving a vehicle and motorcycle.

According to a press release from the Worcester Police Department, when officers arrived on scene, they found the operator of the motorcycle, a 26-year-old man from Westborough, who had already succumbed to his injuries. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

According to a preliminary investigation by crash investigators from the Worcester Police Department, the driver of the motorcycle, who was traveling at “an extremely high rate of speed” at the time of the crash,” struck the vehicle while it was turning left and was thrown off the motorcycle.

The vehicle involved in the accident was damaged but its occupants were not injured in the crash.

The name of the motorcyclist who lost his life in the crash has not yet been released. The incident is still under investigation.
