
DENNIS — The Dennis Police Department announced today that Patrolman John Hubbard lost his wife, Shannon Hubbard, and 1-year-old daughter, Margaret “Maggie” Hubbard in a fire last weekend.
“Patrolman Hubbard and his family were vacationing in Clinton, New York, when a fire broke out in their vacation rental home on Sunday night,” Dennis’ Police Chief John Brady said in a statement. “It is with profound sadness that I report Shannon and Maggie lost their lives as a result of the fire. Patrolman Hubbard and their 3-year-old son Jack survived the ordeal.”
Dennis Police Chief John Brady expressed the department’s sorrow in a statement, offering condolences to Patrolman Hubbard and his family. “Patrolman Hubbard is not only a valued member of our department but also our friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with him as he navigates this unimaginable loss,” said Chief Brady.
The Dennis Police Department also has pledged full support to Patrolman Hubbard as he and his son recover from the tragedy, assuring they will receive any assistance needed.
“We pledge our full support to Patrolman Hubbard and are committed to providing any assistance he needs as his family and loved ones navigate this unimaginable loss,” Chief Brady said. Adding, “We also know that the Dennis community is caring and compassionate, and will also be a source of support.”
Chief Brady has also requested privacy for Patrolman Hubbard’s family while they grieve.
