DENNIS — On December 25, 2024, the Dennis Police Department received reports from several parents of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School students about an individual making threats of gun violence against specific students on social media.
The Dennis Police Department, along with school resource officers from both Dennis and Yarmouth Police Departments, worked together with school district personnel to identify the individual responsible for the social media threats, according to a press release posted on Facebook by the Dennis Police Department.
The individual suspected of making the social media threats was located, interviewed, and arrested at the Dennis Police Department. He/she was charged with bomb/hijack threat with serious public alarm.
The suspect was arraigned in Orleans District Court on December 27, 2024.
The Dennis Police Department said it is not releasing any identifying information about the suspect.
