Barre ambulance and Verizon utility truck collide on Route 62, causing traffic delays

BARRE — A Barre Fire Department ambulance was involved in a collision with a Verizon utility truck Thursday morning on Route 62, resulting in significant traffic delays.

The ambulance was transporting a patient at the time of the crash, according to police. First responders transferred the patient to a Hubbardston ambulance following the crash.

The ambulance driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. No serious injuries were reported in the crash.

Police noted that road conditions in parts of the region were slick at the time.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
