Former athletic director of Auburn High School arrested for sharing obscene materials with minor

AUBURN – On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the Auburn Public Schools’ administration reached out to the Auburn Police Department to investigate a report of possible concerning online activity by a staff member of Auburn High School, the Auburn Police Department announced in a statement.

According to Auburn police, after an extensive investigation, detectives with the department obtained an arrest warrant for Curtis Field, 29, of Vernon, Connecticut, for the charge of disseminating obscene material to a minor. Field was the athletic director of Auburn High School.

“Mr. Field turned himself in to the Auburn Police Station today, and was brought to the Worcester District Court,” the Auburn Police Department said in its statement, which was issued on Jan. 28, 2025.

Field was arraigned on the dissemination charge and released on $500 cash bail under the condition that he stay away from and have no contact with the victims, stay away from Auburn and Spencer schools, and have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 16.

This matter is still under investigation, the Auburn Police Department said in its statement.
