National Weather Service issues winter weather advisory for snow and ice in Massachusetts beginning Wednesday night

The National Weather Service’s Boston/Norton, MA office has issued a winter weather advisory for central, eastern, northeastern, and western Massachusetts. The advisory is in effect from 10:00 p.m. Wednesday to 10:00 a.m. Thursday.

This advisory anticipates mixed precipitation with snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of about one tenth of an inch. Municipalities specifically mentioned include Worcester, Fitchburg, Framingham, Barre, Greenfield, Ayer, Lowell, Lawrence, Amherst, Milford, Springfield, Northampton, and Greenfield.
