Leicester man arrested after police seize semi-automatic shotgun and suspected crack cocaine in search

LEICESTER — A Leicester man was arrested after police discovered illegal firearms, ammunition, and drugs during a search of his home, according to the Leicester Police Department.

On Friday, February 21, 2025, around 4:30 p.m., the Leicester Police Detective Bureau executed a search warrant at 31 Towtaid Street with assistance from the department’s patrol, K-9, and drone units, as well as members of the Spencer Police Detective Bureau.

During the search, officers found a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun, a small-caliber semi-automatic pistol, and a significant amount of ammunition of varying calibers. Police also seized a glass pipe and a small amount of suspected crack cocaine.

The suspect, identified as 52-year-old Sean Dufault, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a firearm without a Firearms Identification (FID) card
  • Possession of ammunition without an FID card
  • Possession of Class B Drug

Dufault was held on $5,000 cash bail and was scheduled for arraignment at East Brookfield District Court on Monday, February 24.
