MARLBOROUGH — Marlborough firefighters responded to a house fire at 230 Miles Standish Drive the morning of Sunday, March 16.
According to the Marlborough Fire Department, dispatchers began receiving calls about the fire at around 9:46 a.m., and as fire crews were en route, the first police units at the scene reported that the single-family home was fully engulfed in flames.
The first fire crews arrived on scene at 9:53 a.m., and on the orders of Captain Jonathan Ayotte, a working fire was called, bringing mutual aid from Southborough to the scene.

Additional crews from Northborough, Hudson, and Sudbury covered Marlborough’s empty stations, while Marlborough fire fighters were on scene fighting the blaze.

Off-duty Marlborough firefighters were also recalled to provide extra staffing and resources.
All occupants of the home had evacuated by the time firefighters arrived on scene.

The fire, which had started in a vehicle under the carport, quickly spread to the second vehicle and then throughout the entire residence. Firefighters worked for about 50 minutes to bring the blaze under control, with all crews clearing the scene by 12:59 p.m.
The Marlborough Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit is looking into the cause of the fire, though it is not considered suspicious.
