BREWSTER — On Thursday, Brewster Animal Control responded to an unusual call about a turkey stuck in a tree, according to a post on its Facebook page. While turkeys commonly roost in trees, this one was reported to be hanging upside down, unable to free itself.
Upon arrival, members of Brewster Animal Control found the bird trapped about 30 feet up, with one of its legs caught in a branch. After unsuccessful attempts to locate a ladder tall enough to reach the turkey safely, they contacted Chris Lombardi, a certified arborist, for assistance.

Lombardi assessed the situation and got to work, using his equipment to climb the tree. He carefully secured the turkey in a large net and brought it safely to the ground. Brewster Animal Control then transported the bird to WildCare in Eastham for evaluation.
