WORCESTER — A Leominster man has been indicted on involuntary manslaughter and drug distribution charges in connection with a fatal overdose that occurred in Fitchburg last summer, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.
Eric Stone, 39, was indicted last week by a Worcester County Grand Jury on charges of involuntary manslaughter, distribution of a Class A substance (fentanyl), and distribution of cocaine.
Stone was originally arrested on January 24, 2025, by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. Following his arraignment in Fitchburg District Court, he was held on $25,000 cash bail and has remained in custody since.
Investigators responded to the unattended death of a 44-year-old man at a Fitchburg residence on June 20, 2024. Detectives determined the man had been supplied with fentanyl and cocaine by Stone in the early morning hours of the same day.
The indictment moves the case to Worcester Superior Court, where Stone is scheduled to be arraigned on April 7.
