“When I went into the loss prevention office, the loss prevention worker was conducting video surveillance of a female party,” Officer Carlson said.

Officer Carlson said the woman was in a corner of the store behind a clothing rack, concealing items in her purse and a plastic tote bag.

“The female was escorted to the LP [loss prevention] office and identified as Sarah Little,” Officer Carlson said.

According to police, Sarah J. Little, 53, is a resident of Fitchburg, MA.

Officer Carlson said the contents were removed from her personal bags, which included makeup and clothing items, and that the total amount of merchandise Little concealed was $616.94.

“Sarah stated that she was going to pay for the items before leaving the store,” Officer Carlson said. “Sarah had a shopping cart that she placed the bags of concealed merchandise in, along with $354.50 of items that were not concealed. Sarah was asked if she had ever been in trouble for shoplifting in the past, and she replied she has not.”

Officer Carlson said the last entry listed on Little’s board of probation record indicated she was arraigned in Leominster District Court on April 19, 2024, on a shoplifting charge.

Disclaimer: If you are wondering why the arrest in this story took place in December, that’s because I had to file FOIA request(s) to obtain the court documents. FOIAs are time-consuming.
