The U.S. Department of State has announced a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Yulan Adonay Archaga Carías, also known as “Porky” and “Alexander Mendoza.” Archaga Carías is the alleged leader of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang in Honduras and is currently one of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives.
Archaga Carías is wanted for multiple charges, including racketeering conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, possession of machine guns, and conspiracy to possess machine guns. He is accused of directing MS-13’s criminal activities in Honduras, which encompass drug trafficking, money laundering, murder, and kidnappings. Authorities allege that he has facilitated the importation of large quantities of cocaine into the United States.
In 2015, Archaga Carías was arrested and imprisoned in Honduras for money laundering and illicit association. However, in 2020, he escaped custody during a court hearing in El Progreso, Honduras, with the assistance of armed individuals posing as military police. He has remained at large since his escape.
