SHIRLEY โ At approximately 7:21 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025, Officer Matthew Euliano responded to a residence on Squannacook Road after an individual at the residence reported a dispute with a neighbor.

โI arrived on scene, halfway up the driveway was a white Caddy [i.e., Cadillac] bearing MA PC [# redacted] which had backed into a metal object off the side of the driveway,โ Officer Euliano said.
Officer Euliano stated that he parked his cruiser and walked to the driverโs side of the vehicle, which was later identified as belonging to Sheryl Ferrante.
According to police, Sheryl A. Ferrante, 69, is a resident of Squannacook Road, in Shirley, MA.
โMs. Ferrante started yelling, stating the other female inside needs to leave her boyfriend alone and stay away from her home,โ Officer Euliano recounted. โShe then yelled, โsheโs a hermaphrodite!โโ
Officer Euliano told Ferrante to wait outside while he went inside to speak with the reporting party, Jessica.
โJessica invited me into her home, she stated she has known Sheryl and her partner Robert Oakes of 121 Squannacook Road for about two years,โ Officer Euliano said. โShe stated she is friends with Robert and walked her dog by his house earlier in the day.โ
Officer Euliano added that Jessica stated Sheryl had the wrong idea and that the situation was not what she believed it to be.

Officer Euliano continued, โI heard a loud bang in the driveway, I looked out the window and Sheryl tried getting around my cruiser and crashed her vehicle into the same metal piece in the driveway again, this time the front of the vehicle.โ
Officer Euliano stated that he then ran outside and told Ferrante to exit her vehicle. She complied, and he placed her in handcuffs. He informed Ferrante that she was being detained and placed her in the rear of his cruiser.

Officer Euliano stated that when he returned inside, Jessica explained she had been walking her dog near her home when she saw a white Cadillac driving westbound slowly. The vehicle then suddenly accelerated, veered off the road, and nearly struck her, forcing her to run into the woods with her dog to avoid being hit. Jessica said the Cadillac came within six inches of her. After the vehicle sped off westbound, she called the non-emergency line to report the incident.
โJessica then called a second time stating the female showed up at her home to confront her about hanging out with her boyfriend, which placed Jessica in fear,โ Officer Euliano said.
When Detective Emily Vincent arrived on scene, Officer Euliano said he informed Ferrante she was under arrest for assault with a dangerous weapon (to wit, vehicle).
โMs. Ferrante stated she never tried to hit her, I told her she can explain her side of the story in court,โ Officer Euliano said. โDet. Vincent photographed the damage to the vehicle, conducted an inventory search and towed the vehicle for MV [motor vehicle] trespass after she made an attempt to have Sherylโs boyfriend come pick up the vehicle.โ
Officer Euliano transported Ferrante back to the Shirley Police Department for booking.
โAyer PD [Police Department] assisted in booking,โ Officer Euliano said. โOfficer [Alexia] Surprenant of Ayer PD found two white oval shaped pills in her pocket without a prescription. Ms. Ferrante stated she had a prescription but could not provide one. On Drugs.com, I identified the pill as Hydrocodone 5mg/acetaminophen 325mg. I seized the pills and placed them into an evidence bag and sealed it. I explained she was being charged with possession of the pills. Sheryl was subsequently booked and bailed on PR [personal recognizance] bail.โ
Ferrante was charged with:
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (to wit, vehicle)
- Possess Class E Drug (two hydrocodone pills)
Ferrante was arraigned in Ayer District Court on April 11, 2025. Following her arraignment, she was released on personal recognizance under the condition that she refrain from illegal drugs and stay away from the victim.
Ferranteโs next court date is a pretrial hearing scheduled for June 13, 2025.
