ATHOL — A forklift overturned during a lumber delivery on a steep driveway along Chestnut Street this afternoon prompting a response from the Athol Fire Department.
In a Facebook post shared around 6:00 p.m., the Athol Fire Department said the incident occurred while a company was delivering a lift of lumber on a hill. A photo released by the department shows the forklift flipped onto its side near a drainage ditch, with two tow trucks working to stabilize and recover the equipment.
The driver was evaluated at the scene and declined transport to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.
The name of the company involved was not disclosed.
Fire officials did not provide additional details about the cause of the accident.
