Man arrested after break-in at vacant Worcester home caught on security camera

WORCESTER — On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Worcester police officers were dispatched to Ericcson Street following a report of a residential break-in in progress.

According to a statement from the Worcester Police Department, an individual witnessed a man entering the vacant residence on a security camera, and gave dispatch a description of the suspect.

When officers arrived on scene, they were informed that a loud “crash” had been heard at the residence shortly before their arrival. Police later observed a glass patio door that had shattered.

Shortly thereafter, police located Thomas Marnalse, 61, of Ruthven Avenue, in the area.

“Mr. Marnalse matched the description given of the suspect pictured in the security footage,” the Worcester Police Department said in its statement. “Officers developed probable cause that Mr. Marnalse had entered the residence and taken items that did not belong to him.”

Marnalse was arrested and charged with:

  • Breaking & Entering in the Daytime to Commit a Felony
  • Larceny from Building
