TEWKSBURY — Two women were arrested Friday following an investigation into crack cocaine distribution in Tewksbury.
According to a statement from Chief Ryan Columbus, the Tewksbury Police Department’s Narcotics Unit began their investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine throughout the city in July. Through their investigation, detectives identified Sophie Olson, 35, of Boston, as the target of the investigation.
On Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, at about 1:30 p.m., detectives arrested Olson and her passenger, Ashley Martinez, 33, of Lawrence, without incident in the area of 365 Main Street. The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office and Andover Police Department assisted with the arrests.

During the operation, police said they seized fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine, Xanax, cash, and paraphernalia associated with drug distribution.
Sophie Olson, 35, of Boston, is charged with:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B drug (Subsequent Offense — two counts)
- Distributing a Class B Drug (Subsequent Offense)
- Possession of a Class C Drug (Subsequent Offense)
- Possession with Intent to distribute a Class E drug
Olson also had three active arrest warrants out of Haverhill District Court at the time of her arrest.
Ashley Martinez, 33, of Lawrence, is charged with:
- Possession of a Class A Drug (Subsequent Offense)
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug (Subsequent Offense — two counts)
- Distributing a Class B Drug (Subsequent Offense)
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class E Drug
Both women are scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court.
