Driver extricated after crash on I-91 North in West Springfield

WEST SPRINGFIELD — A driver was hospitalized in stable condition following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 North near Exit 10B that took place this afternoon.

According to the West Springfield Fire Department, crews from Engine 3 and Engine 2 responded to the scene, where they found the driver trapped inside a white sedan that had struck a guardrail and required extrication.

West Springfield Fire Department paramedics transported the driver to a local hospital for treatment. The driver sustained injuries, but is in stable condition.

In its statement, the West Springfield Fire Department confirmed that the scene has been cleared and all responding units have returned to service.

The name of the driver has not been released.
