BEDFORD — On Thursday, July 24, 2025, at approximately 2:51 p.m., officers with the Bedford Police Department were dispatched to Brookline Bank, located at 168 Great Road, following a report of an individual trying to cash a check with a fraudulent ID.
According to a statement from Bedford’s Police Chief John Fisher, when police arrived on scene, officers identified the suspect as a male wearing a pink shirt and gray pants who was seen getting into a 2010 Infinity G37.
“Bedford police activated their emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the motor vehicle,” Chief Fisher said in the statement. “The driver of the vehicle failed to stop for police, drove through a red light while leaving the Great Road Plaza, and was driving on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by another vehicle traveling west. The suspect failed to stop and continued to drive at a high rate of speed toward Pine Street.”
Police continued the pursuit into Lexington, where they stopped the vehicle on Hartwell Avenue near the entrance to Hanscom Air Base.
“When officers approached the vehicle, they observed another male in the passenger seat,” Chief Fisher said. “While issuing verbal commands for the driver to exit the vehicle, the driver then sped up, nearly striking an officer while fleeing the scene. There were no reported injuries.”
Bedford officers ended the pursuit out of safety concerns and requested support from the Massachusetts State Police.
Around 4 p.m., Bedford police were notified by Chelmsford police that the 2010 Infiniti had been located in the Walmart parking lot in Drum Hill. Chelmsford officers said the driver and passenger were seen attempting to change clothes inside the store before police arrived.
Both men were arrested by Chelmsford police. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Jaeden Tucker, 19, of Lowell, was transported to the Bedford Police Department for booking.
The passenger of the vehicle, whose name was not released, was booked by Chelmsford police.
Jaeden Tucker was charged with the following:
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
- Resisting Arrest
- Malicious Destruction of Property
- Passing Violation
- Marked Lanes Violation
- Failure to Stop
- Speeding
- Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Leaving the Scene of Property Damage
- Failure to Stop for Police
According to Chief Fisher, Tucker has since been arraigned in Concord District Court. He added that Chelmsford police have also charged both Tucker and the vehicle’s passenger with shoplifting.
