WORCESTER — On Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at approximately 12:50 p.m., Worcester police officers, firefighters, and EMS responded to the area of 490 Shrewsbury Street and met with a father who was in the process of driving his two-year-old son to the emergency room.
According to a statement from the Worcester Police Department, the father reported that his son had fallen from a window at their home and was now unresponsive.
Officers began CPR on the child, who was then transported to a nearby hospital by Worcester EMS. The child is listed in critical condition.
During a follow-up investigation conducted by Worcester police detectives and crime scene investigators which took place at the hospital and home in the Hamilton Street neighborhood, investigators learned that the child had fallen through a closed window screen about 10 to 12 feet to the driveway below.
“The incident remains under investigation but appears to be accidental at this time,” the Worcester Police Department said in its statement.
