WELLESLEY — On Friday, August 1, 2025, at approximately 3:12 p.m., the Wellesley Police Department Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a single vehicle car accident on Forest Street, between Abbott Road and Berkshire Road.
According to a statement from the Wellesley Police Department, when officers arrived on scene, they reported that a vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree, head on.
The vehicle’s lone occupant, a male, was found trapped in the car. Once first responders removed him from the vehicle, the victim was transported by ambulance to the Wellesley High School athletic fields where he was transported by Boston Med Flight to an area hospital. He later died from his injuries.
Forest Street was closed for several hours following the crash to allow the Wellesley Police Crash Reconstruction Unit and detectives to further investigate the scene, according to the Wellesley Police Department’s statement.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver may have experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and leave the roadway, ultimately colliding with a tree located on the east side of Forest Street,” the Wellesley Police Department said in its statement. Adding, “The crash remains under investigation, and until the proper notifications can be made the name and age of the vehicle occupant is being withheld.”
