ATTLEBORO — On Sunday, Aug. 3, at 4:52 p.m., members of the Attleboro Fire Department responded to the 600-block area of Washington Street following a report of a motor vehicle accident.
According to a statement from Attleboro’s Fire Chief Scott T. Lachance, when firefighters arrived on scene, they located a vehicle resting on its roof and three snapped utility poles. The sole occupant of the overturned vehicle, an elderly driver, was pulled from the vehicle by a bystander before the Attleboro Fire Department arrived on scene.

Firefighters and paramedics rendered immediate aid before transporting the driver to Rhode Island Hospital in an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A section of Washington Street, between Sullivan and Carleton streets, was closed temporarily following the crash, Chief Lachance said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Attleboro Police Department.
