ORANGE — A motorcycle crash on Route 2 prompted a medical helicopter response Saturday afternoon, according to Orange Fire Rescue EMS.
The department said the crash occurred around 1:06 p.m. near the South Main Street overpass. After evaluating the injuries of the person involved, first responders requested a medical helicopter to Athol Hospital.
No additional details about the crash were immediately released.
After being spotted at a gas station by a police officer aware of his suspended license, a 30-year-old man from Orange sped to his Eagleville Road home, fled on foot to Route 2, and was arrested with narcotics paraphernalia in his possession.
A 42-year-old Orange man was identified through a debit card left at the scene after grabbing cash from a register at Quabbin Harvest after asking for change for a $100 bill, leading to his arrest nearby.
Anthony Labonte, 26, of Orange, was arrested after breaking into his estranged family’s home, stealing his brother’s Xbox, and attempting to break into his mother’s safe. He sold the Xbox to settle a drug debt and evaded police for days before being apprehended with the help of his brother, who returned him to the family home where police were waiting.
